Fortunately, the days are going by quickly, much more quickly than the nights. Blanca, my sister, will be traveling with Vince and me to Seattle. My sister, Diane, who lives in Olympia, may also join us. The three of them were with me during the initial consult a couple of Fridays ago. It was amusing to see the reaction of the doctors/nurses/staff who would enter the small examination room where I spent my first afternoon at the center. At one point, eight of us were in the room.
We will be staying at the home of a WWU alumni couple. They were kind enough to let us stay there last week as well. WWU alumni are the best!

I don't like picturing you getting all this stuff done to you, but it makes me smile to hear you've got a room packed full of supporters. I'm so glad! Big hugs, Rosa!!
Rosa, keeping you in our daily thoughts & prayers. The medical teams in Seattle truly are top notch.
Tip of the day: Emla cream. This is a skin numbing cream that can make accessing the Port virtually painless. Ask for it. :-)
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Rosa. Stay strong in mind and spirit. God is with you always.
Rosa, We are praying for God's blessing and healing. He will lead the doctors to make the best decision about medications and treatments. Courage and strength in this time of need.
Rosa,
We are lifting you and your family up in prayer. Remember Isaiah 26:3, You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in You.
Rosa,
Yikes, my friend! An unexpected card has been dealt and I am so sorry. Playing out the hand is the challenge and I can't even imagine how difficult this all must be for you and your family. I do know that comfort and courage comes in many ways, i.e. eight people crammed in a room together sharing the load. :-) I will continue to pray for your healing and also ask God for your continued courage and peace. Hope it helps to know that many here at WWU are in your room in spirit! Much love, Pam
Sorry Rosa -- didn't mean to remain anonymous in my last comment Somehow clicked the wrong link. :-)
John sends his wishes for your speedy recovery as well. Love, Pam
Rosa, I just wanted you to know that each evening your name is mentioned at our family worship, and it was as well at church board meeting last night. We are confident that your case, which is already in capable professional hands, is also in God's omnipotent hands as well. We are praying, and rooting, for you.
Rosa, Thinking of you daily. Glad your family can be such a source of strength. Let us know how we can help.
Rosa, my thoughts and prayers are with you. You are experiencing what all women dread. Glad your family is there for you. May God give you peace as you submit to the treatment and know that He wants that clean bill of health for you as we all do!
Rosa,
Know that there are so many of us who are remembering you daily in prayer. I wish you strength, comfort, and courage.

Thanks Rosa for keeping us updated on your progress thru the blog! I am so very sorry that this has happened to you. I am praying for you and your family. I saw you at the volleyball game the very afternoon when you found out the bad news (as I later realized). You passed by and smiled at me despite everything that was going on. I admire your positive, graceful spirit, keep it up!!!

Rosa,
I am in Seattle now, let me know if you need anything when you get here. You are in good hands at the SCCA. Getting your first chemo is a little scary but you may be surprised at how good you feel when you finish. I am praying for you, your family, and all of the medical people who are caring for you.
Hey Rosa, This is Diane letting you know that I will be there and we will fill the examination room again. It's the mexican way, what can I say....
It looks like you have so many friends who are keeping you in their prayers and thoughts everyday. Thank you friends.
Rosa,
So many of us are carrying you in our hearts throughout the day. You have an army of supporters here, and a wonderful family. My prayer is that you will have the required measure of peace and courage needed to face the day before you. Love and hugs,
DeLona
Hey Rosa. I sent an email but I'm guessing this is better. Just wanted to continue to let you know that we as a campus are praying for you and your family. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help. Know that we look forward to having you home soon. Blessings, Courage, and Grace...
Hi Rosa,
You and your family have been on my mind for some time. The doctors and treatment available at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are the best. You are in my prayers daily. I have faith that God can heal!

Thinking of you Rosa
and praying you will be renewed by God’s presence.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

I want to add my support to this growing list of wonderful people. You are in my thoughts every single day, Rosa. I know, as I'm sure you do, too, that God knew this was coming, and He is hurting, too, but He has a plan for you. You are in HIS HANDS, and it is HIS HANDS that are conducting the tests, bringing you results, hooking up apparatus (what is the plural of that, anyway?), and holding you close through it all.
Many prayers are being sent heavenward for you and your family. As Paddy would say, courage, peace, and JOY!!!
Dear Rosa and Family,
You have all been in our thoughts and prayers. This is a VERY hard time but I am praying for you all what I have been praying for us and that is that God will help us bear whatever may come up...and I know He will. I know our chemos are different, etc., but for what it's worth it was better than I expected and I hope that is the case for you too. Plus I had a good bowel movement today and am very thankful for that (am I pathetic or what!!).
Love, Jonna and Monty
