I have to tell you that the last few days have been hard. Vince and the kids were sick when we returned from last Friday's trip to Seattle so I stayed at my mom's house. It was great being taken care of by mom but not being at home was difficult. They are better so I came home last night but am wearing a mask all the time.
We just received some good news re: the PET scan I took last Thursday. Annette, our oncologist's nurse called to let us know that it looks like there's progress and the treatment is going the way it should. Treatment is heading in the right direction.
We are due in Seattle tomorrow at 10 a.m. for another chemo/Herceptin treatment. Before that I have an appointment to see about a wig. In comparing notes with other cancer patients, it sounds like I could lose my hair after this second chemo treatment. So the next time you see me I could have a fantastic hair style. Or, I could be doing a Sinead O'Connor impression. ("Nothing compares 2 u")
I have been going to work for an hour or two this week and that has been helpful in getting to a routine, however I am usually feeling tired.
As always, thanks for your kind words and prayers.

Hi Rosa,
Me and other nursing students from WWCC did the health screening at Rogers last week. I got to check Marisa's hearing. She passed! :) I don't think she recognized me though. To think, it was only a few years ago when she was so devoted to me . . . sigh. :) I continue to pray for you and your family as you go through this experience.
Hi Rosa,
I will pray for you this weekend. Just know you are dear to so many folks in this valley. A snazzy wig sounds like fun! What color would you like?!!!
Love, Debbie
Hi Rosa,
Good news about your PET scan. I hope the chemo treatment tomorrow goes well. Stay strong, and know that you are continually in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Linda, Jaime and Lina
Rosa,
It's so nice to have you back and helping where you can! Stay warm and know we're sending good thoughts your way,
Jodi
Rosa,
Thanks for sending the good news about the treatment. We are cheering for you all the way from NYC!
I excited about your new look. I remember the 1970s being a big time for wigs and I think the retro look is perfect for you. Don't forget the platform shoes and the bell bottoms!
Seriously, you are an amazing sister and it hurts to be so far away these days. We are with you in spirit and love even if you are 3,000 miles away.
Jaime, Lina, and Linda
Rosa,
Glad to hear the good news about the PET scan. A wig--well, we girls have always wished for a way to shorten our morning routine--so now you can just put on your hair and go! Oh the matters of life we never thought we'd have to navigate...
You continue to be in my prayers every day--and tonight I will pray for an extra measure of courage and peace for you, and a Sabbath blessing for all of your family.
Take care.
DeLona
Hi Rosa,
I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but I've kind of enjoyed Jonna's hair loss. I don't wait nearly as long for her to get ready to go out. When we do go out, I feel as though I'm James Bond; who is that brunette with him? Wasn't he just with an auburn-haired beauty? I was actually slightly surprised when I met Jonna at the Cancer Center today because she was wearing a wig I hadn't seen on her. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you should really just have fun with it. People can't really say too much if you decide to go blonde. I mean really, how churlish is it to talk smack about a woman with cancer? Have a great Sabbath,
Monty
Hi Rosa,
I hope the wig consult went well and I love what people have been saying about the wigs on your blog. Monty made me chuckle as I imagined Jonna "switching it up" just for fun. I was thinking of Jaime's retro comment and couldn't help remembering mom with her light brown wig from the 70's. I hope treatment went well today and that you had a safe drive back in Walla Walla (I saw the weather report and know the pass is getting it's first winter snow). I missed seeing you this week. Oliver asked if you were coming over this week. He likes having family here. I'll call you later this weekend to get more details from today. Take special care Rosa.
Love and a big hug,
Me
Rosa,
Back to the retro thing and hair. You could recreate the Dorothy Hamill hair cut you had as a teen. OR try something that would not ever work with your regular hair like the Farrah Fawcett or Jaclyn Smith.
"Freeze."
Okay, I'm done now.
Me
Hi Rosa,
Ever since I heard about your diagnosis you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your second chemo treatment went well.
Linda
Hi, I'm not sure if you know who I am, but you probably know my mom, Sharon, or Beth Clark. Our whole family is praying for you.
Sincerely,
The Clark Family
Hey Rosa.
I love Sinead, she's from my "mother-land".
I just wanted to let you know that you and your family continue to be in our prayers as well, as well as the prayers of just about any group I get to visit during the week.
I also very much hope you are able to have a good holiday, and that things continue to progress in a positive direction until you can get back to 150% to your family and at least 90% at work (keep that 10% for yourself :-).
Blessings & Courage,
Hi Rosa--
Just stopping by again to wish you some courage and a Sabbath blessing. Remember today that you are surrounded by many who carry you in their hearts and prayers.
DeLona
And we are SO glad to see you in the office. You are missed, and it makes me smile when I realize you're over there working again. Now if we could just all be in the same office...
