Hello

We had a Thanksgiving dinner today at my brother-in-law's house....since I spent the holiday receiving my third chemo treatment in Seattle. The good thing about this is that there was minimal traffic both in Seattle and driving home that afternoon. Even the lunch we ate that day at Old Country Buffet in Seattle was pleasant, although not the same as home! Michael (our 9-year-old) came to Seattle with Vince and me and he was happy to have a slice of pizza for Thanksgiving dinner.

Not so great is the way I'm feeling. I haven't posted lately because I've been experiencing pain very similar to the carpal tunnel pain. And yesterday it was much worse. Along with this is the increased fatigue that I understand comes after several chemo treatments.

And, today my hair started to fall out. I did get a wig and just need to get it styled.

Oh, Rosa, I'm so sorry! Somehow I was sure you'd get a pass on this Thursday...I've seriously been picturing you at home with the Thanksgiving tofurkey and not plowing across the mountains yet again. But I guess hospitals (and cancer cells) don't exactly take vacations--quite silly of me. Do you have a good massage therapist here in town to help with the aches? Take good care.

I'm glad you were able to have a great big family Thanksgiving. We had one today. :) Well, friends, not family. There's nothing wrong with late Thanksgivings. :)

Can't wait to see your cool styled wig. There are positive things about that, right? That you don't have to worry about fixing it every morning, among other things. Stay positive! :)

Rosa,

I'm excited about your wig. Please style the wig like your hairdo in the 1980s a la Pat Benatar's spiked hair.

I missed seeing you and the family at Thanksgiving. I wish I could have been with you at the Old Country Buffet to celebrate the day. Remember the old days when a trip to Roy's Chuckwagon buffet next to the Big Y was a big treat?

I'm so thankful you are my big sister and Lina's aunt. She's learning how to pray and we pray for you every day. She will sing you a song next time we speak on the phone.

With all my love,

Jaime

Hi Rosa,

I'm sorry to hear that you have had pain. Hopefully you can do something or take something so that will get better, but I have a feeling the fatigue can't be helped. I am looking forward to seeing your wig!

Lots of love,

Jonna
